Why Trust Jesus?

Why Trust Jesus?

Realize That You Have A Serious Problem

No matter how good of a life we try to live, we still fall miserably short of being a good person according to God’s standard. That is because we are all sinners by birth and by choice. Sin is missing the mark of God’s perfection. In other words, sin is when you do something you shouldn’t do, don’t do something that you should do, or do something with the wrong motives or intentions. The obvious is stated, we are not perfect. The Bible says, “No one is good-not even one” (Romans 3v10) and that “all have sinned and have fallen short of the glory of God” (Romans 3v23). Our sin places us in a detrimental position because it separates us from God and must be paid for.

Realize Jesus Is The Only Answer To Your Problem

The reason why Jesus is the only answer to your problem is that He is the only one who can forgive you of your sins. He lived a sinless life and died as our substitute and sacrifice. The Bible says that “God showed His great love for us in this, while we were still sinners, Jesus died for us” (Romans 5v8). This is the gospel, the good news, that while we were hopelessly drowning in our sin, God loved us so much that He provided a way out. God provided the way of salvation for those who put their faith in Jesus. He paid the debt we could never pay. Jesus died for us and instead of us when we least deserved it, but when we needed it the most.

Receive Jesus Into Your Life As Your Lord & Savior

Becoming a Christian is not merely believing in some creed, being a good person, keeping the 10 Commandments, belonging to a certain denomination or going to church. It is all about having a personal relationship with Jesus and placing your faith in Him alone to 1) Forgive you of all your sins (“there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” Romans 5v8); 2) Make you a brand new person from the inside out (“Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!” 2 Corinthians 5v7); 3) To give you eternal life (“For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have everlasting life” John 3v16).

If You Would Like To Have A Relationship With Jesus

Pray this prayer from the deepest part of who you are:

Dear God, I know that I’m a sinner and my sin separates me from you. I understand that the only way to have a relationship with you is to have my sins forgiven. I know that Jesus is the only one who is able to forgive my sins. Right now, I turn away from my sin and place my faith in Jesus alone for salvation. I confess you are my Lord and my Savior. Thank you for saving me. Amen.
